What is Primark?<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you haven't heard of Primark yet, that's understandable, because it's a brand that hardly advertises at all... as part of their cost-cutting strategy.<\/p>\n

Primark is a clothing chain present in Europe and the United States that fashionistas are snapping up!<\/p>\n

Primark Barcelona: Irish low-cost policy...<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Primark's aim is to spend as little money as possible. Communication is therefore almost non-existent, and the stores are not particularly attractive.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, prices are particularly low.<\/p>\n

Today, the brand is a hit!<\/em><\/p>\n

In some major capital cities, huge queues can be seen in front of the stores.<\/p>\n

Extremely low prices for the brand \"Fast Fashion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Founded in 1969 by Arthur Ryan, the brand has gone from strength to strength. almost 300 brands.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But the owner couldn't use the Irish name Penneys<\/strong><\/em> and changed the name to Primark, the contraction of \"Price\" and \"Mark\".<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Primark's pluses and minuses:<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Primark is a little a fashionista's paradise.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Firstly, because it's really really cheap<\/em>.<\/p>\n

And because you can renew your wardrobe on a very small budget.<\/p>\n

What's more, everything at Primark is designed to make you buy a lot!<\/p>\n

There's the famous blue basket for all your new purchases, and thousands of checkouts where you can complete your purchase in a matter of moments. Don't wait at Primark, buy!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

And then there's the other side of the coin. Primark is a company that sells clothes at low prices, but the clothes don't last.<\/p>\n

Quality isn't always up to scratch<\/em>.<\/p>\n

As a result, it is criticized by environmentalists, and has a number of problems with the way it is manufactured in Third World countries...<\/p>\n

Primark at Diagonal del Mar in Poblenou<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Unfortunately, Barcelona's Primark stores are not located in the city center.<\/p>\n

One of the main stores is near Diagonal Mar.<\/p>\n

As its name suggests, this is a fairly new neighborhood.<\/p>\n

New companies and start-ups can be found there. It's easily recognizable because it's the district where you'll find Torre Agbar,<\/strong> this immense skyscraper designed by Jean Nouvel.<\/p>\n

Its shape is reminiscent of a... suppository... and that's what the Barcelona locals call it!<\/p>\n

What else is there to do in the Poble Nou district?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Since you're in Poble Nou, why not make the most of this area?<\/p>\n

To continue your shopping, you can go to \"Les Glori\u00e8s Shopping<\/strong> which is a human-sized shopping center on Avenida Diagonal, at number 208.<\/p>\n

And almost opposite the Torre Agbar.<\/p>\n

Also, in this district, there is the Design Museum (Museu del Disseny)<\/strong> on the Pla\u00e7a de les Glori\u00e8s, featuring a magnificent collection of decorative art.<\/p>\n

For fashionistas, the museum boasts a fine collection of textiles and historic garments.<\/p>\n

It's also THE place for flea markets<\/strong>. Under the huge golden wave, thousands of traders sell just about everything at the Glori\u00e8s market.<\/p>\n

Oh yes, and also: you're really not far from the beach and much quieter seaside than towards Barceloneta.<\/p>\n

Primark opening hours<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Primark doesn't take a siesta like almost all the city's small stores from 1:30pm to 4:30pm, so it's open every day except Sunday, from 9am to 9pm.<\/p>\n

Barcelona's second Primark is at Illa Diagonal<\/strong><\/h2>\n

To get there, from Pla\u00e7a Catalunya, take the metro L3, green line, direction Zona Universit\u00e0ria and get off at \"Les Corts\".<\/p>\n

It's quite an out-of-the-way area, and takes about half an hour to get there by metro.<\/p>\n

This might be a good time to combine it with a little out-of-town getaway.<\/p>\n

However, these are months when where the heat is sometimes suffocating and the high tourist season is in full swing.<\/strong><\/p>\n
