Barcelona Zoo is located in the beautiful Parc de la Citadelle.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A few hundred metres from the beach is the zoological park with more than 1,400 animals of 315 different species<\/strong> where gorillas, Asian elephants, hyenas, zebras, dolphins, gorillas...<\/strong><\/p>\n

Spanning nearly 14 hectares, the park is gigantic!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Conveniently located, it's easy to reach the park from the sea or from the public section of Parc de la Citadelle.<\/p>\n

When banker Llu\u00eds Mart\u00ed Codolar donated his collection of animals to Barcelona City Council, the mayor decided that the zoo would be housed in the Parc de la Citadelle. The park opened its doors in 1892!<\/p>\n

Barcelona Zoo: a commitment to endangered species<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The zoo is involved in various European programs to safeguard endangered species (EEP and ESB), as well as in scientific research programs associated with various European universities.<\/p>\n

The park insists on the fact that they participate fighting the extinction of endangered species by caring for the animals in the zoo<\/strong> but also to raise awareness of contemporary climate issues, especially among children.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eleven zones have been delimited in the park to separate species according to their needs and different habitat types.<\/p>\n

Reptiles and crocodiles are grouped together in the \" Terrarium<\/strong> \".<\/p>\n

Fish and sea lions can be found in theAquarium\".\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

There's also a section for farm animals, a gallery of primates and marmosets, and an area reserved for gorillas...<\/p>\n

Every Saturday, Barcelona Zoo organizes guided tours designed to familiarize children with the living conditions of animals in the jungle and rainforest.<\/p>\n

Children discover the most spectacular jungle animals<\/strong> and understand the world they live in.<\/p>\n

On Saturdays, children discover tigers, tapirs and other dangerous animals...<\/strong><\/p>\n

They are also familiar with environmental issues and endangered species.<\/p>\n

The price is set at 19 euros per child.<\/p>\n

Barcelona Zoo is famous for some of its animals, who have even become the subject of literary works.<\/p>\n

Every day, you can admire the dolphins in the dolphinarium or, at weekends, see how the members of the specialized team take care of them. elephant care<\/strong> that were previously mistreated by their former owners.<\/p>\n

A basic adult ticket costs 21.40 euros.<\/p>\n
