This open-air amphitheater carved into the side of the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/montjuic-park-barcelona\/\">Montju\u00efc<\/a> becomes the stage for a whole range of performances by <strong>music, theater, circus and dance throughout the month of July every year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Greek Festival program usually includes some pretty famous artists, so be sure to book your tickets well in advance.<\/p>\n<p>To get to Barcelona's Greek Theatre from the city center, you can <strong>take metro lines L4 (yellow line) or L5 (blue line) to \"Grec\" station<\/strong>. There are a number of fantastic beaches located between 15 minutes and an hour from the city center.<\/p>\n<p>Just south of the town, Castelldefels offers wide sandy beaches and good water sports options. Montju\u00efc is home to a number of beautiful gardens, including the Greek Garden, the Laribal Garden and the Mossen Cinto Verdaguer Gardens.<\/p>\n<p>As they are more difficult to access than the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/ciutadella-park\/\">Parc de la Ciutadella<\/a>These gardens tend to be a little quieter and are perfect for a romantic afternoon. There are several ways to get to Montju\u00efc Gardens in Barcelona. You can take :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The metro thanks to <strong>line L3 (green line) and get off at \"Espanya\" station<\/strong>. From here, you can take the funicular to the top of Montju\u00efc hill.<\/li>\n<li>Taking the bus <strong>line 150<\/strong> from the Spanish Steps to Montju\u00efc Gardens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc124067825\"><\/a><strong>Enjoy Montju\u00efc's swimming pools<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you're looking for a place to cool off in the city, but don't like the idea of sand in your shoes and salt in your eyes,<strong> the Montju\u00efc swimming pool is for you<\/strong>. Located on the slopes of Montju\u00efc, this municipal swimming pool was used as a diving pool for the 1992 Olympic Games.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to find out more about swimming pools in Barcelona, I suggest you read <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/where-to-swim-barcelonas-swimming-pools\/\">read my article on the subject.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc124067826\"><\/a><strong>What to do in Barcelona in summer: stroll through the Parc de la Ciutadella<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/ciutadella-park\/\">Parc de la Ciutadella<\/a> is perhaps the city's most famous green space, after the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/parc-guell-barcelona\/\">parc G\u00fcell<\/a>which is best avoided in summer, and is located right next to the trendy district of<a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/el-born\/\">El Born<\/a>. The park is popular with jugglers, acrobats, musicians and other street performers, and is usually busy with tourists sharing a picnic as soon as the sun shines.<\/p>\n<p>Don't forget to take a look at the fountain in the park. <strong>bears a striking resemblance to Rome's Trevi Fountain<\/strong>. Here's how to get to Parc de la Ciutadella in Barcelona :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Line L4 (yellow line)<\/strong> takes you almost directly to the site. Get off at the \"Arc de Triomf\" station. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to the park.<\/li>\n<li>You can also take <strong>bus routes H14, V13 or V15<\/strong> and get off at the \"Parc de la Ciutadella\" stop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc124067827\"><\/a><strong>Enjoy an open-air cinema<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Summer sees a number of open-air film events spring up across Barcelona. <strong>Le Cin\u00e9ma Lliure<\/strong> is a free independent film event held on the beach, showcasing independent films from around the world. A great time to spend with family and friends.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc124067828\"><\/a><strong>What to do in Barcelona in summer: try a horchata<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>During the warmer months, <strong>the locals love horchata,<\/strong> a creamy drink made from a plant called tiger nut. This sweet, rich drink is often consumed as a refreshing snack. One of Barcelona's best horchaterias is called Orxateria Sirvent and is located in the Sant Antoni district. If you want my opinion, I also recommend <strong>try their homemade ice creams.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Barcelona is a city full of surprises. During your trip here, you'll be able to discover many things and change your habits.
