It usually takes place for a week in August and attracts thousands of visitors every year.<\/p>\n<p>The Gracia festival is a celebration of community and creativity, offering a variety of activities for the whole family, including competitions, workshops, sports, concerts and much more. The street decorations are all handmade and often fragile, making them all the more impressive.<\/p>\n<p>The best time to visit the Gracia festival is in the evening from 8 p.m. when the decorations light up and the neighborhood comes alive. However, it's important to note that there are usually more people on the first night. I recommend visiting the festival at another time to avoid the crowds. The lights on most of the decorated streets come on around 8:30 p.m, <strong>offering a magnificent view of the decorations.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please note that the first two days of the Gracia festival are very busy. The decorations change theme every year.<\/p>\n<p>All the decorated streets are worth a visit, but it can take a while to get to them all. Some streets are more famous for their decorations, such as <strong>Carrer de Joan Blanques and Carrer de Verdi.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Carrer de Verdi is particularly interesting, as it was the first street to create its own decorations and program street events in 1862. Considered one of the most emblematic streets of the Gracia festival, I recommend that you don't miss this street during your visit.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc124754845\"><\/a><strong>When is the Festa de Gracia festival?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>During the Gracia festival, activities in the decorated streets continue until <strong>2 h on weekdays and up to 3 h 30 on Fridays and Saturdays<\/strong>. However, there are exceptions for certain squares such as Plaza Sol and Plaza Revoluci\u00f3, which close earlier.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc124754846\"><\/a><strong>Where is the Festa Major de Gracia?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Barcelona's Gracia district is within easy reach. It's about a 15-20 minute walk from the center of Barcelona up Calle Gracia. <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/passeig-de-gracia\/\">Passeig de Gracia<\/a> from the square <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/place-catalunya-barcelona\/\">Pla\u00e7a de Catalunya<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the Gracia festival takes place in the area known as \"Vila de Gracia\". If you take a cab, it will drop you off at the edge of the festival area, so all you have to do is wander around and discover the place.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc124754847\"><\/a><strong>How do I get there?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>There are several ways to get to the Festival de Gracia in Barcelona. If you're close to the venue, you can get there on foot or by car. <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/velo-barcelona\/\">by bike.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>By public transport, the easiest way is to take the metro to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/metro-barcelona\/\">metro<\/a> <strong>Fontana (L3) or Joanic (L4)<\/strong> near the Gracia district.<\/p>\n<p>You can also take bus line 116, which stops close to the festival area.<\/p>\n<p>The Festa Major de Gracia is a festival not to be missed if you happen to be in the vicinity.
