Without a doubt, this Barcelona museum is <strong>one of the city's most interesting museums.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The presentation of the collections of modern European art from the XX\u1d49 and XXI\u1d49 centuries is unique. The 250+ years of history the walls have seen seem to contrast with the modern art they house. Nevertheless, the presentation of the collections gives the impression that ancient and modern go hand in hand here and form a unity, even a symbiosis.<\/p>\n<p>MEAM does not exhibit abstract art. Both the museum and the exhibiting artists are committed to figurative art movements. Entering the building, you find yourself in an elegant entrance hall some 10 meters high. From here, a staircase leads to the second floor of the exhibition space.<\/p>\n<p>This first exhibition, \"Modern Art of the XXI\u1d49 Century\", presented at MEAM over three floors, features remarkable photorealistic paintings and sculptures. It pays tribute to all those artists who came to work for the museum and now hope to <strong>that their work will continue and be recognized worldwide.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You'll find MEAM in Carrer Barra de Ferro, 5, just a few steps from the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/picasso-museum-barcelona\/\">Picasso Museum<\/a> in the neighborhood <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/el-born\/\">El Born<\/a>. The first floor features a caf\u00e9 and a small store selling merchandising items with motifs from the exhibition.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc125352771\"><\/a><strong>Why is MEAM worth a visit?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Museu Europeu d'Art Modern is well worth a visit, even for those less inclined to art. The building has a wonderful atmosphere. The art is presented in a modern way, but the building is hundreds of years old and has an aura of tranquility and beauty.<\/p>\n<p>Looking at the works in the permanent exhibition, one might assume that they are photographs. However, they are <strong>all paintings belonging to the photorealist movement<\/strong>. You'll be captivated by the different rooms here and by the works created by our contemporary artists.<\/p>\n<p>The venue also offers concerts. These offer you the chance to spend wonderful evenings with young, talented artists. The price of the concert includes admission to the museum, so it's worth arriving around 1.5 hours before the concert to allow time for sightseeing.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc125352772\"><\/a><strong>How do I get to Barcelona's Museum of Modern Art?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You can reach the site very quickly by metro. All you need to do is <strong>get off at Jaume I station<\/strong>.
