Approximately 20 % of the population of <strong>the city is made up of foreigners, and this number is growing daily.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It's beautiful, seductive, interesting and charming, and the place is packed with things to do. If you're a student, retiree, digital nomad or spouse of a Spaniard, for example, <strong>different visas are available.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc126122833\"><\/a><strong>Accommodation in Barcelona: what are the best areas to live in Barcelona?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>I've already written a guide to Barcelona's different neighborhoods, which you can find here.<\/p>\n<p>However, there are certain areas where you can enjoy a good life in Barcelona. <strong>enjoy the city to your heart's content!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you want to have fun and experience the city like a tourist, I suggest you turn to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/barcelonas-gothic-quarter\/\">Barrio Gotico<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/el-raval-barcelona\/\">El Raval<\/a>. This is where you'll find the city's most beautiful sites.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to travel to Barcelona with your family and enjoy good schools, you'll have to turn to <strong>to the Gracia and Les Corts districts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>For a more relaxed way of life, and if you want to take advantage of the city's magnificent views, head for the Sants- area.<a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/montjuic\/\">Montjuic<\/a> and Horta Guinardo.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, for one of the city's most authentic atmospheres and close proximity to the beach, turn to <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/barceloneta-neighborhood\/\">Barceloneta<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Whatever kind of atmosphere you're looking for, you can find it in Barcelona, because the diversity the city offers <strong>has nothing in common with other European cities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc126122834\"><\/a><strong>How to find accommodation in Barcelona<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Often, it can be very difficult to find a long-term place in Barcelona if you're not already in the city.<\/p>\n<p>As many people want to move to Barcelona, the housing market is super-saturated. It can therefore be ridiculously difficult to find accommodation,<strong> especially if online research is your only outlet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>So it's best to start your search before you actually arrive in town.<\/p>\n<p>The best way to start is to look for short-term apartments in Barcelona for a few months. While you're in the apartment, you can get in touch with local owners and real estate agents and <strong>find long-term accommodation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By doing so, you can attend visits in person, check out places and neighborhoods for yourself and find an ideal place that suits your needs and the person you're moving with. Without doing these things in person, you could end up living in a neighborhood you don't like, an apartment that doesn't suit you or have the worst neighbors in the world.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc126122835\"><\/a><strong>Is it possible to bring your pet to Barcelona?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Yes, it's quite possible. To do so, you need to follow some annoying (but necessary) immigration rules, but that's the case for transporting animals, <strong>wherever you travel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To enter Spain with your dog or cat, you need a pet passport and a health certificate. Your pet must <strong>be microchipped and fully vaccinated with all vaccinations up to date.<\/strong> When you arrive in Barcelona, you'll also need to register your dog with the \"Barcelona Registry for Pets and Wild Animals in Captivity\".<\/p>\n<p>It's also worth noting that a small number of specific dog breeds are designated as dangerous in Spain, and you need to follow certain additional rules in case your pet falls within these criteria.<\/p>\n<p>In short, yes, it's perfectly possible to bring your pet with you when you move to Barcelona. It's a very pet-friendly city, and <strong>many foreigners and expatriates bring cats and dogs with them.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now that you know how to find a place to live in Barcelona, you'll need to take all the necessary steps to find the house or apartment that's right for you.
