There are usually long lines of well-informed locals and tourists snaking out the door. I recommend <strong>clo\u00efsses amb pernil (clams and ham) or trif\u00e0sic (squid, fry and shrimp combo)<\/strong>. Traditional preserves, known as conservas, are an important part of the menu. The family-run bodega dates back to 1914, and is home to several generations of Quimets. Although the space is small, <strong>the atmosphere is charming and friendly.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For gourmet tapas, you'll have to go to :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday to Friday <strong>from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc126248806\"><\/a><strong>Bar Pinotxos<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Pinotxo bar in <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/la-boqueria\/\">La Boqueria market<\/a> specializes in hearty Catalan cuisine. It is world-famous for dishes such as Chipir\u00f3nes con Mongetes (small squid with white beans).<\/p>\n<p>Another classic is Arroz Caldoso con Bogavante, a soft rice in a seafood broth made with Galician lobster bought from a seafood vendor in La Boqueria. Gourmets should try the Xuixos; <strong>a Catalan fried doughnut with a light cream filling.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The bar opens :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday to Saturday <strong>7 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc126248807\"><\/a><strong>Gourmet tapas: Bar El Velodromo<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The El Vel\u00f3dromo bar is located in the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/l-eixample-barcelona\/\">l'Eixample<\/a>. Large windows, chrome and marble enhance the art deco interior. Velodromo was historically known as a popular meeting place for intellectuals, and it is said that civil war plots were hatched within its walls.<\/p>\n<p>Executive Chef Jordi Vil\u00e0 produces a rich range of dishes and tapas that represent Catalonia's gastronomic heritage. This bodega is located in El Born, in the historic Carrer de Montcada, near the Picasso Museum. Its name comes from the cava called Xampanyet. International gourmets, locals and chefs alike flock to eat at the El Quim counter. <strong>in the middle of Barcelona's most famous market<\/strong>. While you're there, try Quim's famous Huevos con Chipirones (fried eggs with baby squid).<\/p>\n<p>The facility opens :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tuesday to Thursday <strong>9 a.m. to 4 p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Friday <strong>9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Saturday <strong>8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc126248810\"><\/a><strong>Gastronomic tapas: Paco Meralgo<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Paco Meralgo, located in Esquerra de l'Eixample, is popular with locals. The place is said to match the quality of Cal Pep, <strong>with less hype and fewer tourists.<\/strong> The restaurant creates unique tapas using fresh market produce, and offers unusual delicacies such as Espardenyes (sea cucumbers).<\/p>\n<p>You can eat here:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every day <strong>from 1 p.m. to midnight<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc126248811\"><\/a><strong>Ciudad Condal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Ciudad Condal (Ciutat Comtal in Catalan) is the former name of the city of Barcelona, dating back to the time when it was the seat of the Count of Barcelona. The lively restaurant is just a few steps from Pla\u00e7a de Catalunya and offers <strong>a wide variety of tapas and an impressive selection of imported beers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The restaurant remains open:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday to Friday <strong>8:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Saturday and Sunday<strong> 9 a.m. to 1:30 a.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you're looking for delicious gourmet tapas, I recommend you visit one of these places.
