This museum <strong>highlights his incredible talent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>A place to find out more about Gaud\u00ed's life and work <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The main aim of the Gaud\u00ed House Museum is to give visitors an insight into the life and works of Antoni Gaud\u00ed. Although he was not born in the city, nor even in Spain, he had a profound influence on the city's history. <strong>influenced his architecture and spent most of his life there.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The museum building was Gaud\u00ed's former home, and two of its four floors are now occupied by extraordinary exhibitions. In fact, the museum brings together the most important moments of his life, as well as <strong>a wealth of information on the creation of this museum.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>The museum's beginnings<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To understand the beginnings of the Gaud\u00ed House Museum, we must first look at the history of Parc G\u00fcell. The public park was originally conceived as a private housing estate for the city's elite in the late 1800s. The idea was conceived by <strong>wealthy businessman Eusebi Guell, who approached Antoni Gaud\u00ed to bring his vision to life.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Gaud\u00ed's house <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Gaud\u00ed House Museum building was first used as a show house until Gaud\u00ed moved in with his father and niece in 1906. The architect lived and worked here for almost 20 years. The housing estate never saw the light of day, and only the museum was built on the site.<\/p>\n<p>In 1925, Gaud\u00ed took up residence in <strong>the Sagrada Familia workshop to get closer to his work.<\/strong> In his will, he left the property to the board of directors of the Sagrada Familia Foundation, who eventually decided to sell it.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>A new owner <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The buyers were an Italian merchant, Francesca Chiappo, and his wife, Josefina. They moved into the property in December 1926. Gaud\u00ed had stated in his will that he wanted all proceeds from the sale to go directly to funding the construction of the Sagrada Familia.
