The event gained in popularity in the 2000s thanks to the growing reputation of local hero Fernando Alonso. The track has hosted many forms of motorsport over the years, but currently F1 and MotoGP are the only major annual events.<\/p>\n<p>The circuit has been hosting motorcycle races since 1992, when the European Motorcycle Grand Prix was held on the track for the first time. The event <strong>was renamed Grand Prix of Catalonia in 1996.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc128820933\"><\/a><strong>Where is the Barcelona circuit located?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Circuit de Barcelona-Barcelona is located near Montmelo, some 30 km northeast of Barcelona city center. Thanks to the city's various transport links, <strong>you can quickly reach the Barcelona circuit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>How do I get there?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>To get there, you can :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take the Renfe R2 (dark green) or R2 Nord (light green) train from Sants Estacio, <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/passeig-de-gracia\/\">Passeig de Gracia<\/a> or El Clot to Granollers or Saint Celoni. The train journey will take approximately 20-30 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Choose <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/barcelona-shuttle\/\">the shuttle<\/a> which links downtown Montmelo to the circuit. Tickets <strong>cost about \u20ac2 per trip.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Borrowing <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/bus-barcelona\/\">the bus<\/a>. Sagales offers a regular bus service on Grand Prix weekends from Estaci\u00f3 del Nord to the Circuit de Barcelona. The journey takes about 45 minutes and<strong> takes you just 300 metres from the circuit entrance<\/strong>. Daily return tickets cost \u20ac15.<\/li>\n<li>Take the<a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/cab-barcelona\/\"> cab<\/a>. Expect to pay approximately <strong>10 per fifteen-minute journey.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc128820934\"><\/a><strong>Take advantage of the various guided tours of the Barcelona circuit<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Would you like to see the Barcelona circuit from a different angle?
