But within a few years of development, the project was abandoned. Even so, Gaudi continued to develop it as a park. Eusebi Guell, a wealthy industrialist, hired Gaudi to bring his vision to life. Gaudi worked on the project for 14 years until the Count's death in 1914, when his heirs decided to stop the project, <strong>as no houses have been sold.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 1922, the city of Barcelona purchased the half-built residential complex and converted the 17-hectare area into a public park in 1926. Since then, as the park's popularity has grown, the authorities initially divided it into two zones. In 2013, the city opened the living area to the public. You can now enjoy places like Gaudi's house museum.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc130089735\"><\/a><strong>Unique architecture in Barcelona<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Not only did Gaudi succeed in bringing a fairytale to life with his architecture, he also invented the Trencad\u00eds. Trencad\u00eds is a mosaic created from small pieces of broken ceramic. This technique is used throughout the park.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the fluidity of the design to their structure, sculptures with motifs<\/strong>This has allowed the concrete architecture to become one with nature. Animals such as salamanders, snakes, octopuses and lions can be seen throughout the park, while flowers are introduced via various motifs distributed throughout the park.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc130089736\"><\/a><strong>How much do tickets to Parc Guell cost?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Over 9 million people visit Parc Guell every year, making it one of the world's most visited parks.<strong> one of Barcelona's most popular attractions<\/strong>. It's essential to buy tickets for Parc Guell, as it's become a very popular place to queue. On site, you can wait up to 40 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>For admission tickets, please allow :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>10 \u20ac<\/strong> per adult<\/li>\n<li><strong>22 \u20ac<\/strong> for the guided tour<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A fair price considering all the wonders to be discovered at Barcelona's Gaudi Gardens.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc130089737\"><\/a><strong>What are the opening hours?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Gaudi's gardens open :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>May 1 to August 27 <strong>8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>August 28 to October 28 <strong>8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>October 29 to December 31 <strong>8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc130089738\"><\/a><strong>How do I get there?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To get there, you can use <strong>bus routes H6 and D40.<\/strong> These stop at Travessera de Dalt, a 10-minute walk from the park. Lines 24 and 92 are also available.<\/p>\n<p>By metro, the L3 green line stops at two stations close to Parc Guell. <strong>Lesseps and Vallcarca stops<\/strong> are both a 20-minute walk from the park entrance.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to get there by car, the park has 13 parking spaces. Twelve are on carrer de Marianao and one on carrer d'Olot. However, these spaces are usually crowded with cabs, so I wouldn't recommend taking your own vehicle. You'll only <strong>waste time on your visit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gaudi's gardens are a wonderful place to spend an afternoon in Barcelona.
