After several years' work, the architect was able to deliver the newly finished building to his patron. Dom\u00e8nech i Montaner worked with mosaicists Llu\u00eds Bru and Mario Maragliano, sculptors Eusei Arnau, Joan Carreras and Alfons Juyol, ceramist Antoni Serra i Filter and interior designers Gaspar Homar and Josep Pey. The project was completed in 1906, <strong>4 years after the start of work.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With its ornaments, sculptures, ceramics, carved wood, marble, stained glass and mosaics, Casa Lle\u00f3 i Morera has become one of the most appreciated pieces of Spanish architecture.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc129552006\"><\/a><strong>Where is Casa Ll\u00e9o i Morera?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Casa Lle\u00f3 I Morera is one of three architectural sites in the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/passeig-de-gracia\/\">Passeig de Gr\u00e0cia<\/a>located right next to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/casa-amatller\/\">Casa Amatller<\/a>by Josep Puig I Cadafalch, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/casa-batllo-barcelona\/\">Casa Batll\u00f3<\/a>by Antoni Gaud\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>These three magnificent buildings form the Mansana de la Disc\u00f2rdia, which in French means \"the apple of discord\", since no one seems to be able to see the other. <strong>be able to decide which building is the most beautiful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc129552007\"><\/a><strong>Casa Morera in our time<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In 2006, Casa Lle\u00f3 I Morera was acquired by Grup N\u00fa\u00f1ez I Navarro, a Spanish company working in construction, property development, sales, rentals, parking lots and warehouses. The group also works on the restoration of historic buildings, <strong>including palaces and hotels.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When the Group acquired the house, it underwent a two-year restoration and conservation process that focused primarily on the fa\u00e7ade, rear courtyard and interior spaces.<\/p>\n<p>Casa Lle\u00f3 i Morera used to be open to visitors, but recently closed its doors. Now, the best way to explore the house is to take a virtual tour on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.casalleomorera.com\/fr\/\">the official website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Although not open to the public, the house can still be appreciated from outside on Passeig de Gr\u00e0cia.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc129552008\"><\/a><strong>Other notable works by Lluis Dom\u00e8nech i Montaner<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Lluis Dom\u00e8nech i Montaner was a highly talented architect with a very distinctive style. He created a number of magnificent buildings in the city of Barcelona, some of which can be visited.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Palau de la M\u00fasica Catalana<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/palace-of-catalan-music\/\">Palau de la M\u00fasica Catalana<\/a> is one of the most important concert halls in Catalonia. The building, originally created for the Orfe\u00f3 Catal\u00e0, was designed by Domen\u00e8ch i Montaner in 1905.<\/p>\n<p>The Palau boasts stained glass windows, mosaics, sculptures and iron structures, all of which give it a very sumptuous appearance. The main music hall is absolutely dazzling, <strong>with multicolored stained glass on the ceiling.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Sant Pau Recinte<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The beautiful modernist section of the Sant Pau hospital stands in the Horta-Guinard\u00f3 district as a true testament to the architectural genius of Lluis Domen\u00e8ch i Montaner. The area, now <strong>designated as Sant Pau Recinte Modernista<\/strong>It functioned like a hospital.<\/p>\n<p>However, in June 2009, a new, modern section of the hospital opened next door. La Recinte Modernista has begun restoration work to become a museum and cultural center.<\/p>\n<p>Sant Pau Recinte Modernista and Palau de la M\u00fasica Catalana do all the talking <strong>two UNESCO world heritage sites<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>As you explore Barcelona, you'll find many exceptional architectural sites.
