In fact, it was Antoni Gaud\u00ed's last building before he turned his attention to the Sagrada Familia. Located in the Eixample district, it is one of the most impressive buildings of the Art Nouveau movement.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/la-pedrera-barcelona\/\">La Pedrera<\/a> translates as \"the house of the quarry\", earning its nickname Casa Mil\u00e1 for its unusual construction. The large stone slabs on the fa\u00e7ade were first fixed and then worked by stonemasons.<\/p>\n<p>Gaud\u00ed used very little paint on this building, aiming to retain the natural appearance of the materials. Parts of the Palau G\u00fcell fa\u00e7ade are reminiscent of a Venetian palace, with two striking oval doors at the front.<\/p>\n<p>One of Antoni Gaud\u00ed's earliest works, it was to become a multi-purpose building, with apartments, events and exhibition spaces.
