Glassware and unknown bottles line the shelves. This is one of Barcelona's finest wine bars.<\/p>\n<p>In another small room, a dining room with open kitchen and marble bar overlooks the street on the other side of the building. The place features <strong>large bay windows that let in the evening light from street lamps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Bar Brutal serves some of the city's most intriguing dishes. Here you'll discover one of the most tempting combinations of food and drink on offer in the city. <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/el-born\/\">El Born<\/a> or elsewhere in the city.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc130307767\"><\/a><strong>Quality dishes<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As for the dishes served here, they are generally eclectic recipes that change regularly. However, certain dishes are a regular feature. For example, it's not uncommon to find sea bass sashimi with cucumber and basil, pork neck with fregola or octopus with bok choy.<\/p>\n<p>The flavours are inventive, <strong>inspired by local ingredients and international cuisine<\/strong>. A selection of white, red and sweet wines are available by the glass, as well as a wide selection by the bottle. The staff are <strong>competent, friendly and supportive<\/strong>. If in doubt, I suggest you ask their advice. The waiters know the wine list inside out, and can be a great help if you're not sure which drink to choose.<\/p>\n<p>There's also a host of spirits specially selected by the bartender, extending the range from gin to grappa to mezcal. Only two gin and tonic cocktails are offered on the menu. <strong>You can also find Vermouth<\/strong> for those who want to sip something a little more local.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc130307769\"><\/a><strong>How do you make a brutal bar?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The bar is just a few minutes' walk from the Gothic Quarter. To get there, you can borrow :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the subway on the way out <strong>Jaume I station<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>the bus thanks to<strong> line 120, which takes you to Princesa<\/strong> just a few minutes' walk from the bar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc130307770\"><\/a><strong>What are the opening hours?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The brutal bar is closed on Tuesdays. However, you are welcome to visit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday and Thursday <strong>from 7 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Friday <strong>from 1 p.m. to midnight<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Saturday and Sunday <strong>from 1 p.m. to 0.30 a.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Monday<strong> from 7 p.m. to midnight<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you're looking for an exceptional experience right in the center of Barcelona, I recommend a visit to Bar Brutal.
