It was at the end of 1579 that<strong> Teatro del Hospital de la Santa Creu<\/strong> is granted exclusive theatrical performances. Since then, the city has become a must for drama lovers.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring a varied billboard perfect for all audiences, even those planning to travel to Barcelona with children. It's the city's largest opera house and a true architectural gem located on Las Ramblas. Inaugurated on April 4, 1847, it reopened its doors in 1999, <strong>completely renovated<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Performances take place almost every day, and include a wide range of genres: from classical opera to operetta, with a few Broadway hits or<strong> contemporary scenic arts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The main hall has a capacity of 2,286 seats spread over an area of 360 m\u00b2. There is also a 530 m\u00b2 banqueting area for 530 people. Large events can also be held in the Sal\u00f3 dels Miralls in the hall.<\/p>\n<p>If you'd like to find out more about the Liceu, <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/liceu-barcelona\/\">I wrote an article on the subject here!<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132228695\"><\/a><strong>Theater in Barcelona: the Palace of Catalan Music<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/palace-of-catalan-music\/\">palais de la musique<\/a> takes advantage of <strong>UNESCO world heritage site since 1997<\/strong>. Its architect was Catalan architect Llu\u00eds Dom\u00e8nech i Montaner, one of the pillars of Modernism. Eclectic in appearance, its fa\u00e7ade and interiors feature an explosion of mosaics, a magnificent inverted geodesic dome, ceramic floral motifs and an unparalleled ornamental symphony.<\/p>\n<p>You'll find concerts of classical music, flamenco and jazz, not to mention its iconic Spanish guitar recitals. If you want to enjoy the music of the world's finest guitarists, this is the place to be. <strong>a must-see.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132228696\"><\/a><strong>Theater in Barcelona: the National Theatre of Catalonia<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Opened in November 1996 and designed by Ricardo Bofill, who drew his inspiration from a classical Greek temple, this theater located in <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/poblenou-district-barcelona\/\">Poblenou<\/a> is dedicated to dramaturgy. From time to time, musical performances, lectures, workshops and various cultural events are also scheduled.<\/p>\n<p>The works are generally in Castilian or Catalan, although the latter are also available in English. <strong>with Spanish subtitles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132228697\"><\/a><strong>The auditorium<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Located a short distance from the previous one, this theatrical project by Navarrese architect Rafael Moneo was inaugurated in March 1999 and is intended for both classical concerts and more modern performances. It's also worth noting that the complex also houses Barcelona's Music Museum.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132228698\"><\/a><strong>Theater in Barcelona: the Condal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In the 1930s, the lively avenue of Paral-lel, in <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/poble-sec\/\">Poble-sec<\/a>next to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/el-raval-barcelona\/\">Raval<\/a>has earned the nickname European Broadway. This is due to its greater concentration of theaters than any other city on the Old Continent.<\/p>\n<p>Among the survivors of this golden age is the Teatre Condal, a century-old 697-seat venue. You can attend <strong>national and international classics, comedies and many other genres<\/strong> that set this place apart and make it a must-see.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132228699\"><\/a><strong>The Tivoli Theatre<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Opened in 1919 and owned by the Bala\u00f1\u00e1 cinema and theater company, this historic theater is just a short distance from the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/place-catalunya-barcelona\/\">Place de Catalunya<\/a>. It's the perfect place to see zarzuelas, musicals and one-man shows performed by the greatest Catalan artists.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to these theaters, there are many other less famous venues in Barcelona.
