Just a few minutes' walk from the Barri Gotic, you can easily reach the seafront on foot or by metro (yellow line), <strong>Barceloneta stop<\/strong>) or by local bus (<strong>45, 59, D20, V15<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Whichever means of transport you choose, you'll soon find yourself immersed in a world of elegant bars, authentic seafood restaurants and palm-fringed promenades. There's so much to explore! It includes two marinas, a ferry terminal and landing areas for cruise ships.<\/p>\n<p>The port has undergone a massive transformation in recent years, with the most important additions being <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/maremagnum\/\">Maremagnum<\/a>a shopping complex and the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/aquarium-barcelona\/\">largest aquarium<\/a> of Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The complex is located in the middle of the harbor, almost entirely surrounded by water, which makes the views all the more interesting. Right next door, you can board one of the Golondrinas, small tourist boats that take you on a cruise. <strong>along the coast of Barcelona.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132230852\"><\/a><strong>Visit the Palau de Mar<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The palm-tree-lined promenade leads down from the marina to the<strong>at Palau de Mar<\/strong>. This rather majestic building was once a simple warehouse that was transformed into the Palau in 1992.<\/p>\n<p>Today, it houses the Museum of Catalan History, office space and numerous bars and restaurants. If you'd like to enjoy a spectacular view of the whole of Port Vell while sipping a refreshing drink, <strong>go up to the 1881 Per Sagardi bar on the roof of the Palau.<\/strong> The entrance is hidden inside the Museum of Catalan History. Once you've found it, simply take the elevator to the 4\u1d49 floor!<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132230853\"><\/a><strong>Take a stroll along the Barceloneta<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/barceloneta-neighborhood\/\">Barceloneta<\/a> was barely inhabited until the mid-18\u1d49 century. Its construction was inspired by the political and military decision to relocate all the inhabitants of the Ribera district to make way for the construction of Felipe V's fortress : <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/ciutadella-park\/\">La Ciutadella<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The entire district was designed by Catalan engineer Juan Mart\u00edn Cerme\u00f1o. Today, Barceloneta offers a curiously attractive blend of the traditional and the modern. Its wide wooden walkways, palm trees and designer showers are a reminder of Barcelona's glory days. <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/j-o-de-barcelona\/\">Olympic Games in Barcelona in 1992.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today, the beaches form the essence of Barcelona's rather legendary nightlife. The marina they built can accommodate 740 yachts, and its entrance is visible from anywhere in Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Port Ol\u00edmpic has become one of Barcelona's main attractions for locals and travelers alike.
