After the demolition of the former Capuchin convent, <strong>a vacancy remained.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Later, the city decided to build the Pla\u00e7a Reial here. Architect Francesc Molina designed this elegant square. In the middle, there was to be an equestrian statue immortalizing the former king Ferdinand VII. A dragon and a winged helmet also crown the site. This has been on site since 1879.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from that, palm trees have been installed to give this famous square an exotic finish. First, you can head to Ocana, a trendy bar that hosts <strong>beautiful evenings during the summer season<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you're looking for dancing and music, you've got to check out the Sidecar Factory Club and the Jamboree. You'll have a great time partying with friends.<\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, some of the most famous restaurants are located close to the square. These include La Tartareria, Cerveceria Colon, La Terrassa del do, La Cuina del Do, Cerveceria ALex, and many more.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132430543\"><\/a><strong>The Pipa club: one of Barcelona's best-hidden secrets<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Pipa club is Barcelona's hidden secret. The club's theme is \"Sherlock Holmes\". The clientele here is eclectic, and you may come across students, foreign residents and musicians. It's also <strong>the best place for pipe enthusiasts<\/strong>. In fact, you'll find a smoking room where you can enjoy the different flavors of tobacco available on site.<\/p>\n<p>You won't find any modern cocktails in this bar. Instead, you can enjoy delicious traditional wines. However, I'd advise you to be careful, as the prices here are quite high.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132430544\"><\/a><strong>Barcelona's Pla\u00e7a Reial: the Flea Market<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Most tourists avoid this area. However, it would be a shame to overlook it on your trip to Barcelona. Indeed, it's a beautiful place where the<strong>you can see stamp sellers as well as coin dealers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>What's more, this market opens every Sunday. If you want to come here, visit in the middle of the afternoon, as the vendors usually open their stores later than the scheduled time.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132430545\"><\/a><strong>How do I get there?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>There are several ways to get to Barcelona's Pla\u00e7a Reial.
