It consists of meat and mashed potatoes formed into a ball, covered with breadcrumbs and deep-fried. It is made in <strong>the La Mancha region of Spain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A great accompaniment to a charcuterie board with Iberian ham. Some Barcelona restaurants even serve it as tapas. Cheese goes well with <strong>with a few green olives.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132519800\"><\/a><strong>Tomato bread<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This specialty consists of slices of bread rubbed with tomato and olive oil and sprinkled with salt. It's an extremely popular dish in Barcelona, and if you don't order it, the waiter will just ask for it. <strong>will ask you if you'd like to try it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each restaurant has its own recipe. Sometimes the bread is warm and toasted, and sometimes there are more chunks of tomato. In other places, you can also find bread rubbed with garlic to give it a stronger taste.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132519801\"><\/a><strong>Barcelona specialities: Croquettas<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Spanish croquettas are long and oval in shape, and the <strong>filled with cheese and meat<\/strong>. The meat inside is usually chicken or Iberian ham.<\/p>\n<p>It's usually eaten in the city's best tapas bars. To find out where to find them, I've put together <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/gourmet-tapas\/\">a full article on the subject.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132519802\"><\/a><strong>Iberian ham<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It's the Spanish answer to Italian prosciutto. Iberian ham is usually sliced a little thicker than prosciutto, so it's meatier and less delicate. You can eat it on its own, and it's <strong>the ingredient of all traditional Spanish dishes.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132519803\"><\/a><strong>Barcelona specialities: Bocadillos<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Spanish sandwiches are called bocadillos. They're made from long baguettes that are both crisp and chewy. My favorite place for <strong>tasting these bocadillos is the Bo de B<\/strong>. Here, you choose a meat, we top the sandwich with a combination of four sauces and toppings including olives, lentils, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and corn. A real delight!<\/p>\n<p>This restaurant is located in the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/barcelonas-gothic-quarter\/\">Gothic district<\/a> and you can get there :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Every day <strong>noon to 11 p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132519804\"><\/a><strong>Patatas bravas: a must<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>These crispy fried potato wedges with spicy sauce and creamy aioli are my favorite Spanish dish. It's a dish that owes its creation to one of the queens of Spain. Thanks to this dish, <strong>she could feast on regional seafood<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The word \"paella\" is a contraction of the words para (for) ella (she), referring to the fact that it was made for the queen. Regardless of the story, the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/paella\/\">paella<\/a> is served in many restaurants in Barcelona and there are many different preparations.<\/p>\n<p>Pa\u00eblla is a dish prepared in a large, shallow pan with rice, vegetables, paprika and saffron. Many pa\u00ebllas have <strong>a mixture of seafood, others have meat and some are vegetarian.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc132519806\"><\/a><strong>Gaspacho<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>To cool off from the hot days in Barcelona, I recommend heading to one of the city's restaurants and sipping this chilled tomato soup. It's a <strong>an excellent way to cool off<\/strong>. Sometimes the soup is accompanied by garnishes such as croutons, red bell pepper, avocado and onion, but it is often served on its own.<\/p>\n<p>I'm sure that during your trip to Barcelona, you'll want to try all the specialties the city has to offer.
