While it's easy to think of the plethora of <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/best-known-tapas\/\">Tapas<\/a> or the succulent <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/pinchos\/\">Pinchos<\/a> that can be found everywhere, there is a typical cheese that is not to be missed: <strong>the Mat\u00f3<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Let me introduce you to this product and how to enjoy it properly, so that you can enjoy it to the full!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What is Mato?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Mat\u00f3 is <strong>fromage frais<\/strong> made from goat's or cow's milk, first boiled, then curdled with lemon juice. It is then filtered to preserve only the white paste. <strong>very soft<\/strong>with a slightly gelatinous texture.<\/p>\n<p>In a game of comparisons, we sometimes read that Mat\u00f3 is similar to <strong>Italian Ricotta<\/strong>. The latter, however, has a much stronger taste.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, it is a fromage frais quite similar to <strong>at <em>Requeijao<\/em> Portuguese<\/strong>In fact, the official name for this product is Mat\u00f3. While the official name is Mat\u00f3, it is sometimes referred to as <em>reques\u00f3n<\/em>\u00a0to designate it. Note the similarity!<\/p>\n<p>Visit <strong>Catalan gastronomy<\/strong> is often separated into two major elements: what comes from the sea \/ what comes from the mountains. It's a dessert that can easily be found in <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/restaurant-barcelona\/\">the city's best restaurants<\/a>and easy to prepare at home.<\/p>\n<p>Tempted? Here's how!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How to prepare it?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>All you need is Mat\u00f3, honey, a few slivered almonds or walnuts and\/or a little sugar. Simply place a small amount of Mat\u00f3 on a plate, and top with one or two dollops of honey.<\/p>\n<p>Sprinkle over all <strong>walnuts or slivered almonds<\/strong> and sweeten (optional). If you plan to buy Mato, you have several options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Find <strong>a delicatessen<\/strong> within one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjourbarcelone.fr\/en\/barcelona-shopping-center\/\">Barcelona's shopping malls<\/a>.
