Golf in Barcelona: article summary
Golf in Barcelona: the Real Club de Golf El Prat
45 holes of golf await you at Real Club de Golf El Prat. It is divided into 4 exciting circuits. The Open Course is the most popular choice and, having hosted the Spanish Open on a number of occasions, is the most popular of the four. class 2ᵉ in northern Spain. The course is also one of Europe's top 100 golf courses.
The Blue Course also lives up to expectations. The very level greens make precision the key to scoring.
The PGA Camiral Golf & Wellness
The jewel in Spain's sumptuous golf crown, the Stadium Course at PGA Camiral Golf & Wellness is a very special place. Although it's about 1 hour's drive from Barcelona city center, you can't ignore this place.
Rated 3ᵉ in Europe, the Stadium Course consists of long narrow fairways spaced by beautiful oaks, conifers and heather, twisting and winding to small undulating greens. A true a masterpiece of landscape architecture.
Golf in Barcelona: Club de Golf Barcelona
Sculpted in hilly terrain on the border of the Penedes wine regionClub de Golf Barcelona is another first-rate facility. Despite recent additions that make the courses more challenging, you can still enjoy spectacular views of the mountains of Montserrat.
To get around the course, I recommend renting a caddy. The course is quite large, and you may need a little shade. when you're playing in the hot Spanish sun!
Le Montanyà Gol
This golf course is something of a jewel, nestling in the Montseny Natural Park. Golf Montanyà features a charming layout designed by architect Dave Thomas. The L'Estanyol stream runs through the heart of the course, making water a hazard on most of the 18 holes.
It's a course that offers a number of challenges, some of which will be difficult to overcome. One of the biggest of these is to sufficiently master your gesture to avoid your ball ending up at the bottom of the creek. I'd recommend this place if you've already mastered golf.
Golf in Barcelona: Golf de Vallromanes
This very charming club is actually an old stone farmhouse from the XVIIIᵉ century. Most of the buildings having been preserved, the location faithfully reflects the personality of Vallromanes Golf Club.
The tranquil, landscaped course stretches over undulating terrain, with large bunkers and sloping, untouched fairways. You'll also find greens on several levels. A spectacular course guaranteed to make for an exceptional afternoon.
Llavaneras Golf Club
The 4ᵉ oldest course in Catalonia, Llavaneras Golf Club was founded in 1945 and lies less than 40 minutes along the coast from Barcelona. A relatively short course measuring 5,500 meters, which doesn't prevent you frombe surrounded by breathtaking views.
The 17ᵉ hole is a special place. Indeed, it is the highest spot on the course and offers an incredible panoramic view of the Mediterranean. Plenty to play while enjoying the beauty of Catalonia.
Golf in Barcelona: Golf de Terramar
The venue offers a truly unique configuration that has changed very little since 1922. Terramar Golf Club is located on the edge of the coastal town of Sitges. A railroad line runs through the heart of the course, isolating holes 5 to 17 on the north side. The rest of the holes are sandwiched between the track and the hillside.
Each course here offers something different, especially the 8ᵉ which is particularly appreciated by the club's players.
There are many golf clubs in Barcelona where you can relax and enjoy a sunny afternoon with a bit of sport. During your trip to the Catalan capital, I recommend you try your hand at this wonderful sport. Then, perhaps you'll develop a passion for this noble sport.
