The largest and most elaborate seaside resort on the Costa Brava, Lloret de Mar has been a favorite vacation destination since the 1960s.
The resort extends for around 4 km around the bay.
The west side of the resort comprises mainly apartments and is quieter with a beautiful beach.

Enjoy Lloret de Mar's many beaches
Lloret de Mar offers a choice of five main beaches. The longest beach is 1.6 km long and offers a full range of services and water sports. It is separated from the more beautiful Platja de Fenals beach by a green promontory.
Sa Boadella beach, 2.5 km to the west of the town, is a lovely natural cove. Here you can relax away from the crowds and enjoy the warm waters. All these beaches are a mixture of sand and pebbles.
Further west is the beautiful sandy beach of Santa Cristina, with most beach services, but no water sports.
To the east of Lloret de Mar are a number of small cove beaches. Canyelles beach, 3 km away, is a pebbly expanse offering access to water sports. All the beaches, with the exception of the municipal beach, back onto magnificent pine forests.
Activities beyond the beach
The biggest attraction in Lloret de Mar is Water World. There are plenty of rides and even a bungee zone. You can also try your hand at go-karting.
In the center of town, Space Blaster is a giant catapult which propels the curious 70 m into the air, producing over 4G of pressure. If you want to try it out, I'd advise you to have a good heart and no heart problems. The attraction can be very impressive.
On the other hand, visitors in search of peace and quiet will appreciate the romantic gardens of Santa Clotilde.
Relax in the Santa Clotilde garden
Lloret de Mar boasts a garden in one of the most stunning settings. The Jardin de Sant Clotilde overlooks the sparkling blue-green Mediterranean Sea and extends over three terraces. You'll love the mermaid statues at the top and bottom of the staircases, bringing a little bit of the sea to earth. It would be easy to spend an afternoon in the garden enjoying the sun.
Situated in a natural amphitheater some 50 m above sea level, you'll enjoy a splendid view of the bay.
Lloret de Mar beach: stroll along the cliffs
A series of paths links Castell Sant Joan to the center of Lloret de Mar. Choose your path carefully through the forest and down to the water's edge, where you'll find lock-sealed tokens of love and the monument to the fisherman's wife. erected to celebrate the millennium of Lloret de Mar.

To get there, I recommend you take a bus. These depart regularly from Barcelona's bus station. You can also rent a car to get there. Allow a good hour for to Lloret de Mar town center.
