Parc Guell Barcelona (or park Guëll): here's the complete guide to visiting it!
In 1910, the industrialist Eusebio Guëll commissioned the architect Antoni Gaudi a private residential area on Barcelona's Sobranceira hill.
The plan was to build a mini garden city with some sixty buildings, shared facilities, leisure areas and decorative structures.
In the end, just three buildings were erected.
But what remained after the project was abandoned was one of the most original public spaces ever built.
Ideal for strolling, alone, as a couple or with the family. The view is magnificent!

Description and history of Park Guëll
Gaudi's buildings were constructed between 1910 and 1914.
The layout is based on the Apolo sanctuary in Delfos.
The park, with its exceptional view of the sea and the Catalan capital, is located on land purchased by the industrialist Eusebio Guëll in 1895.
The original plan was to build 60 batisses, but only 3 were actually built.
The city of Barcelona reclaimed the area in 1923 as a park.
The park's main attraction is the large terraceA forest of neo-Gothic columns and sinuous benches inspired by the human body.
The surface area is covered by the " azulejos "(earthenware) shiny .
Parc Güell, which covers 17 hectares, is mainly a gardenOnly a few buildings inside the park have been completed, such as the two mushroom-shaped houses framing the entrance.
Once inside, you'll find yourself in front of staircases with fountain islands in the center, in particular, one of the three fountains, the iconic salamander fountain.
Gaudí strove to preserve the natural relief, with the columns of the walkways simulating tree trunks, for example. This fountain, the best-known of the three, is interpreted as the salamander emblem of Nîmes, the city where Gaudi spent part of his youth and whose Jardins de la Fontaine inspired this park.
On "La place de la nature" you'll discover the world's longest undulating bench (110 m). This bench is exceptional: seated in a loop, you're both in an intimate space and open to your neighbors and the square.
