Barcelona Poblenou district: article summary
What can you find in Barcelona's Poblenou district?
Poblenou was the center of Barcelona's industrial revolution, and the best way to get to know it is to start at the foot of the district: Ciutadella Parkwhere the Carrer de Pujades tourist thoroughfare is transformed into a densely populated industrial zone.
In the surrounding eight blocks, you'll see virtually no sign of the textile and transport companies built in the "Manchester of Catalonia" in the XXᵉ century. Instead, you'll encounter digital marketing agencies, spectacular coworking spaces, innovative specialty cafés and art galleries, all housed in huge industrial buildings.
You soon reach the heart of the residential district of Poblenou, a village in itself.
