What is Primark?
If you haven't heard of Primark yet, that's understandable, because it's a brand that hardly advertises at all... as part of their cost-cutting strategy.
Primark is a clothing chain present in Europe and the United States that fashionistas are snapping up!
Primark Barcelona: Irish low-cost policy...
Primark's aim is to spend as little money as possible. Communication is therefore almost non-existent, and the stores are not particularly attractive.
On the other hand, prices are particularly low.
Today, the brand is a hit!
In some major capital cities, huge queues can be seen in front of the stores.
Extremely low prices for the brand "Fast Fashion.
Founded in 1969 by Arthur Ryan, the brand has gone from strength to strength. almost 300 brands.
But the owner couldn't use the Irish name Penneys and changed the name to Primark, the contraction of "Price" and "Mark".
Primark's pluses and minuses:
Primark is a little a fashionista's paradise.
Firstly, because it's really really cheap.
And because you can renew your wardrobe on a very small budget.
What's more, everything at Primark is designed to make you buy a lot!
There's the famous blue basket for all your new purchases, and thousands of checkouts where you can complete your purchase in a matter of moments. Don't wait at Primark, buy!
And then there's the other side of the coin. Primark is a company that sells clothes at low prices, but the clothes don't last.
Quality isn't always up to scratch.
As a result, it is criticized by environmentalists, and has a number of problems with the way it is manufactured in Third World countries...
Primark at Diagonal del Mar in Poblenou
Unfortunately, Barcelona's Primark stores are not located in the city center.
One of the main stores is near Diagonal Mar.
Here's the exact address:
Barcelona - Diagonal Mar
C.C. Diagonal Mar
Avenida Diagonal 3
To get there, take the metro from Plaça Catalunya to the Poble Nou district. Take the metro Urquinaona station: line 4 - yellow. Stop at El Marelsme.
As its name suggests, this is a fairly new neighborhood.
New companies and start-ups can be found there. It's easily recognizable because it's the district where you'll find Torre Agbar, this immense skyscraper designed by Jean Nouvel.
Its shape is reminiscent of a... suppository... and that's what the Barcelona locals call it!
What else is there to do in the Poble Nou district?
Since you're in Poble Nou, why not make the most of this area?
To continue your shopping, you can go to "Les Gloriès Shopping which is a human-sized shopping center on Avenida Diagonal, at number 208.
And almost opposite the Torre Agbar.
You can't go wrong!
Also, in this district, there is the Design Museum (Museu del Disseny) on the Plaça de les Gloriès, featuring a magnificent collection of decorative art.
For fashionistas, the museum boasts a fine collection of textiles and historic garments.
It's also THE place for flea markets. Under the huge golden wave, thousands of traders sell just about everything at the Gloriès market.
Oh yes, and also: you're really not far from the beach and much quieter seaside than towards Barceloneta.
Primark opening hours
Primark doesn't take a siesta like almost all the city's small stores from 1:30pm to 4:30pm, so it's open every day except Sunday, from 9am to 9pm.
Barcelona's second Primark is at Illa Diagonal
To get there, from Plaça Catalunya, take the metro L3, green line, direction Zona Universitària and get off at "Les Corts".
It's quite an out-of-the-way area, and takes about half an hour to get there by metro.

C.C. LoIlla,
Carrer de Déu i Mata, 69, 99
Opening hours

What's there to see and do in Les Corts?
This district is close to the Camp Nou, the famous soccer stadium of the legendary Barça team.
You're also not far from Sants station, the city's largest train station.
This might be a good time to combine it with a little out-of-town getaway.
Why not head for the seaside resorts of Sitgès or Tossa del Mar, for example?
Or continue your visit to La Roca Village, a village where over 140 brands are represented at low prices. (La Roca Village, s/n, 08430 Santa Agnès de Malanyanes)
Primark's third store
The last store is really out of town, near the small town that borders Barcelona, El Hospitalet. In fact, it's between Barcelona and Barcelona El Prat airport.
Here's the exact address:
C.C. Splau,
Av. del Baix Llobregat, s/n,
08940 Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona)
Open every day from 10am to 10pm, except Sundays!
Primark, it's cheap but when are the sales?
Sales in Spain last longer than in France. You can take advantage of discounts ranging from 15 to - 70%!
The next summer sales will run from July 1 to August 30 inclusive.
However, these are months when where the heat is sometimes suffocating and the high tourist season is in full swing.
Expect not to be alone in the city's stores...
On the plus side, these stores are usually air-conditioned.
This is quite pleasant in a big city where temperatures sometimes exceed 35 degrees in the middle of summer.
