Museum in Barcelona: the Picasso Museum

Visit Picasso Museum is a permanent collection of almost 4,000 pieces, mainly showing Pablo's formative years at art school, and his later involvement with the Catalan avant-garde.

It's the perfect place to discover the works of this great painter. On site, you'll discover portraits of teenagers and the intense innovations of his blue period. Last but not least, I also recommend a visit to the gallery of cubist paintings and temporary exhibitions.

To avoid long queues, I advise you to buy your tickets in advance.

The site is open to the public:

• Every day 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

To get there, you can take the metro and get off at Jaume I station. All you have to do is walk a few minutes to reach the site.

MNAC: National Art Museum of Catalonia

Visit National Art Museum of Catalonia is a place where you can get an excellent overview of Catalan art from the XIIᵉ to the XXᵉ century.

On site, you'll discover the impressive Romanesque collection with wall paintings from the Xᵉ century, the fantastic Gothic collection and the unique, modernist Catalan collection. What's more, once you've climbed the steps to the ancient castle, you'll find yourself facing a breathtaking view of the city.

The museum opens to the public :

• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Friday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This museum is located in Montjuïc and you'll need to take the funicular to get there. Once you've finished visiting the museum, you can also take advantage of the various squares and parks on offer here.

Museum in Barcelona: the CaixaForum

In addition to the permanent collection of contemporary art, there are three impressive spaces for temporary exhibitions. This is one of the places in the city.

On site, you can enjoy the unique architecture of the building itself, which is a small work of art. A renovated, century-old yarn and textile factory is also on site, and is a major source of inspiration. one of the masterpieces of Catalan industrial modernism. Once inside, you can explore its walkways and impressive terraces with views.

The easiest way to get there is to take the bus to the Av Ferrer i Guàrdia - Mèxic stop.

The Antoni Tàpies Foundation

Catalan artist Antoni Tàpies created this space dedicated to the study and appreciation of contemporary art in 1984. Today, it is a cultural center and a museum dedicated to the work and life of Tàpies.

Outside, you can admire the building's tangled crown of aluminum pipes and metal nets. Inside, works by Tàpies. These are created using waste paper, mud and rags in his paintings. A technique unique to the artist you won't find anywhere else.

To get there, simply get off at the metro station Passeig de Gràcia.

This former hospice built on the site of a medieval monastery now houses the Barcelona Centre for Contemporary CultureThe company's three halls feature constantly evolving exhibitions, with an emphasis on multimedia arts.

The venue features regular conferences and interviews with the world's leading experts in contemporary art. When you visit the museum, there's a good chance you'll come across one of these presentations, and it'll be a pleasure to meet you. so you can learn more about modern art.

On the first Sunday of every month, access to the fifth-floor lookout is free. From here, you can admire a magnificent view of the mountains, city and sea.

Barcelona's Centre for Contemporary Culture opens :

The easiest way to get there is to use the Universitat metro station.

Santa Monica Museum of Art

This other museum on Las Ramblas welcomes almost all artistic disciplines, with a particular focus on digital media produced in Catalonia.

The exhibitions and events are so varied that there's something for every taste: architecture, performing arts, visual arts, music, literature, design, gastronomy... You'll never be bored! at the Santa Monica Museum of Art.

The site opens to the public :

• Tuesday to Sunday 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Please note that the museum is closed on Fridays and Mondays. If you're in Barcelona, you can get there thanks to Drassanes metro station. Once there, just walk a few minutes to find the Santa Monica Museum of Art.

Museum in Barcelona: the Can Framis Museum

In this museum, you'll find some 300 works on display, including those by Catalan artists, sculptors and photographers of the last 50 years. The latter are both little-known and internationally famous.

It's fair to say that the star of the show is the building itself. It has been surprisingly renovated. Today, you can admire the building's original features with the renovation.
