About the Bunker del Carmel in Barcelona
The Carmel Bunker, otherwise known as El Turo de la RoviraThey were never really used as bunkers. In the 1930s, during the Spanish Civil War, the summit of Turo de la Rovira was used as a base to defend the town against air attack.
After the war, the Bunker del Carmel became a shantytown, housing around 7 % of Barcelona's population.
For a long time, they were virtually abandoned, visited only by locals aware of the incredible beauty offered by the view. Today, however, more and more people discover its 360-degree views.
How to get to the Bunker del Carmel?

Choose to travel to the site by metro
Getting to the Bunker by metro is the route that requires the most walking. Although it's a nice walk, you'll have to make some effort to get there.
The part metro is easy, simply mount take the L4 towards Trinitat Nova and get off at Alfons X. From there, it's about half an hour's walk. Don't let the walk put you off, because once you're there, you'll enjoy the best view in Barcelona.
Take the bus to Barcelona's Bunker del Carmel
