Artist, visionary, architect, genius. These words all describe the master that was Gaudí. His works are not to be missed during your visit to Spain and Barcelona, and visiting them will probably be at the top of your Barcelona bucket list.

It costs just a few euros to visit the master's main works. If you're a museum enthusiast and plan to visit all the museums on the list, allow for a larger budget. You can also make a detour to the great Museu Nacional D'art de Catalunya and the Museu Picasso.

Nightlife in Barrio Ravel

Barrio Ravel is home to a vibrant, multicultural community. Filled with bars and restaurants, the narrow streets come alive at night. Located in the Ravalnot far from Las RamblasIt won't take long to find one of the alley's most popular establishments: Marsella.

Marsella Absinthe Bar, created in 1820, would have seen legendary artists such as Picasso and Hemingway pass through its doors. Barcelona has a public bicycle service, but it is reserved for residents. However, there are private rental companies where you can rent a bike for around €5.00 a day.

It's a great way to discover the city. Cycling also reduces your carbon footprint and is a great way to save energy. a great way to burn off all those calories that you'll undoubtedly gain from eating Barcelona's world-renowned cuisine.

If you're a bit interested in markets, the la Boqueria of Barcelona is not to be missed.

Steeped in history, this open-air venue dates back to 1217. Located near the old city gate, it was originally just a few tables selling meat. The market has grown to include hundreds of stalls selling everything you could possibly want, including food products, bread, meat, fish, sweets and ice cream.

Stroll through the Gothic Quarter

Teleport yourself centuries into the past by spending a few hours getting lost in the narrow, winding streets of the Gothic Quarter. Once the center of the city, the district stretches from Las Ramblas in Laietana, and the Mediterranean seafront in Ronda de Sant Pere.

Despite several changes undergone in the XIXᵉ and early XXᵉ centuries, many buildings date back to medieval times, some dating as far back as the Roman colonies in Barcelona.

Visit Barri Gòtic retains a labyrinthine street plan, with numerous small streets leading to squares. Most of the district is closed to regular traffic, but open to service vehicles and cabs.

El Poblenou is a fascinating district of Barcelona that lies between the city center and some of Barcelona's most beautiful beaches.

During the Industrial Revolution, El Poblenou was the center of Catalan and Iberian industry. It was filled with factories and working-class neighborhoods. Today, many of these former factories have been converted into lofts, galleries and boutiques, transforming El Poblenou into a creative and cultural center. Its vibrant atmosphere makes it one of the best places to visit in Barcelona.

Las Ramblas del Poblenou is the place to discover the social life of the district. Full of trendy bars and cafés where you can stop for some tapas or a delicious craft beer.

Keep strolling down this street and you'll eventually reach the point where El Poblenou meets the Mediterranean on the Bogatell beach. Here you can find people kitesurfing, sunbathing and partying on the beach during the summer months.

The Parc Central del Poblenou is well worth a visit. It offers a quiet space where you can relax in the sun.

To visit Barcelona on a budget, you're going to have to get off the beaten track and enjoy the city in a different way. However, I can assure you that you won't waste any time and will discover many of Barcelona's wonders.
