Barcelona park: Parc Güell
Visit parc Güell is one of the most beautiful parks in Europe, not only because of its privileged location overlooking the Mediterranean, but also because many of the park's buildings, structures, walkways and bridges were designed by Spain's most famous architect: Antoni Gaudi.
The park is located on Carmel hill, with breathtaking views over Barcelona, and although access to the park seems a little difficult, there are a few escalators in the steepest sections.
There's so much to do in the park that you'll need to allow at least half a day. Don't miss Gaudí's famous dragons or the blue and white towers near the entrance gate. You'll probably also want to visit a few other attractions also on site.
How much does it cost to enter Parc Güell?
In addition to the fee of 10 euros to enter the park or 22 euros for a guided tour, you will be required to pay extra to enter Gaudí's house museum.
Ciutadella Park
Visit Parc de la Ciutadella is one of Barcelona's most popular parks. Geographically at the heart of the city, its gardens and 19thᵉ century sculptures offer a serene setting for locals and tourists alike to enjoy its diverse flora and fauna.
This charming park offers a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle of city life, with a wide range of attractions to appeal to all ages. The outdoor area features several gardens, including a tropical greenhouse.
The park is dominated by the art nouveau Castell del Tres Dragons, built for the 1888 Universal Exhibition. There's also a museum of modern art inside the Parliament building. The park is huge and lush.
How much does it cost to visit the park?
Visits to the park are completely free, but attractions such as boat trips on the lake and the art museum are subject to a charge.
Park in Barcelona: Laberint d'Horta Park
Visit parc del Laberint d'Horta is one of the city's most famous attractions in Barcelona's Horta-Guinardó district. Originally built in 1791 as an Italian-style garden, it is now an impressive outdoor space filled with lush greenery, exotic plants and trees, and two imposing antique sculptures.
The highlight of the park is the large hedge maze where a large statue of Eros greets visitors on their way to the center. Other interesting features that make this one of Barcelona's best parks include a romantic fountain surrounded by four columns, an artificial lake with swans and ducks, and several magnificent gardens. from French landscaping to Japanese stone gardens.
How much does admission cost?
Horta's Parc del Laberint isn't free, but it's not expensive. In fact, it costs around 2.5 euros for adultsYou don't need to book in advance.
Montjuïc Park
Visit Montjuïc park is a magnificent urban park located on the hill of Montjuïc in the city of Barcelona. It offers breathtaking views of the city and surrounding countryside, and is renowned for its wide range of attractions and things to see. The Botanical Garden alone boasts 5,000 species of plants from all over the world, as well as orchid gardens and a butterfly greenhouse.
Also in Montjuïc Park is an open-air theater that hosts shows throughout the year, including musicals, operas and dance. The theater boasts a terrace with incredible views of the city and can accommodate up to 1,000 visitors per show.
As you can imagine, Montjuïc Park is huge. I therefore advise you to wear comfortable shoes if you wish to visit.
Park in Barcelona: Parc de la Barceloneta
If you want to hit the beach while you're in town, head to Parc de la Barceloneta. It's one of Barcelona's best parks. You can get there on foot from Las Ramblas. The park has jogging and running tracks, beach volleyball courts and a green space for picnics and morning coffee.
However, as you might guess, the main attraction is the beach at la Barceloneta. The spacious beach has a protected swimming area, changing rooms, showers, toilets, lifeguards and even a Wi-Fi connection. Sun loungers and parasols are also available for hire.
Fortunately, you can also walk to other local beaches, such as Playa Mar or Somorrostro Beach.
Park in Barcelona: Montserrat Nature Park
Montserrat Natural Park is a beautiful area about an hour from the city. It's easily accessible by public transport, but you can also rent a car in town.
The Montserrat is one of Barcelona's best parks to visit to stretch your legs. The Sant Jeroni hike in the park leads to the highest point of the entire mountain range.
If you're interested in art, be sure to visit the interior of the Montserrat Monastery Museum, which houses works by the world's most famous artists, including El Greco, Salvador Dalí and Claude Monet.
A tour of the parks during a visit to Barcelona is a very popular activity that I recommend. On the spot, you'll enjoy magnificent scenery and unique activities.
