Please note that the museum is closed on Fridays and Mondays. If you're in Barcelona, you can get there thanks to Drassanes metro station. Once there, just walk a few minutes to find the Santa Monica Museum of Art.

In this museum, you'll find some 300 works on display, including those by Catalan artists, sculptors and photographers of the last 50 years. The latter are both little-known and internationally famous.

It's fair to say that the star of the show is the building itself. It has been surprisingly renovated. Today, you can admire the building's original features with the renovation.

Barcelona Zoo is located in the beautiful Parc de la Citadelle.

A few hundred metres from the beach is the zoological park with more than 1,400 animals of 315 different species where gorillas, Asian elephants, hyenas, zebras, dolphins, gorillas...

Conveniently located, it's easy to reach the park from the sea or from the public section of Parc de la Citadelle.

When banker Lluís Martí Codolar donated his collection of animals to Barcelona City Council, the mayor decided that the zoo would be housed in the Parc de la Citadelle. The park opened its doors in 1892!

 

Barcelona Zoo: a commitment to endangered species

The zoo is involved in various European programs to safeguard endangered species (EEP and ESB), as well as in scientific research programs associated with various European universities.

The park insists on the fact that they participate fighting the extinction of endangered species by caring for the animals in the zoo but also to raise awareness of contemporary climate issues, especially among children.

TheAquàrium from Barcelona!

Located in Barcelona's Old Port (Port Vell), a visit to theAquàrium is a great fun activity, but it's also interesting because you're going to learn a lot. 1. Barcelona landmark No. 1: La Sagrada Familia

The Sagrada Familia from Gaudi to which the Catalan architect dedicated almost his entire life.

The mythical cathedral begun in the early 20th century will hopefully be finished one day... but each time later...

The work builds up over the years, and it's a real pleasure to discover new features and advances every time. Plus, you can visit in the morning or afternoon, it's always different.

The stained-glass windows blend colors, and the interior goes from yellow to orange to purple.

If you wish to visit it, I advise you to book your tickets in advance because it can take several days to get an hour's visit. And yes, the Sagrada welcomes a huge number of visitors, since it's one of Spain's most visited monuments.

And for this, the number of visitors who can enter is calculated!

And climbing the towers is well worth the effort. A little scary for those afraid of heights, but the view is breathtaking!

After your visit, I also invite you to quench your thirst on Gaudi's Rambla and, if you still have the courage, to visit the splendid Hôpital Saint-Paul on the other side of the Rambla.

To get to the Sagrada, take the the yellow metro line.

Otherwise, it's about a 30-minute walk from Plaça Catalunya.

 

2. Barcelona landmark #2: Passeig de Gracià with Casa Battlo and Milà

The most beautiful avenue in town!

It's a pleasure to stroll around and discover the luxury shops that alternate with Gaudi's houses.

3. Monument Barcelona N°3: The Citadel Park

If you want to recharge your batteries for an hour or so and forget you're in the heart of a city of over 1.5 million inhabitants, Parc de la Citadelle is the place to do it. thirty hectares of palm and orange trees !

There's lots to see in the park, including the administrative buildings inspired by the Hansel and Gretel fairy tales, with their candy houses...

Or the monuments dedicated to nature that we've been lucky enough to see in several films, including theKlapisch's 'Auberge Espagnole'.

We love to stroll the heights of the city and discover the breathtaking view that includes both mountains and sea...

And you can see everything from up there: la Sagrada, Torre Agbar, Montjuic...

To get there, take the green metro line from Catalunya and stop at Plaça Lesseps.

From here, take the Travesera de Dalt and start climbing.

To make your ascent easier, because it's quite steep, borrow escalators that will spare your physical fitness.
