Visit Barcelona in 4 days: start your trip at Las Ramblas

This is undoubtedly the most touristic part of Barcelona. It's a must for any first-time visitor to the city. There are many reasons why it's so popular.

A hive of activity, Barcelona's most famous street is lined with street artists, souvenir vendors and market stalls.

Start at the top of the Plaça de Catalunya and walk down the wide boulevard, soaking up the thriving atmosphere.

It gets very crowded at rush hour, so if you're not a fan of crowds.., try to get there as early in the day as possible.

La Boqueria

Halfway between Las Ramblasyou'll come to the best part: the market of La Boqueria. Inside, you'll find all kinds of delicacies.

From sizzling seafood platters to the best Iberian ham in the country, you're bound to find something you like. try the local specialities in this place.

With almost 500 stands, there's a lot going on at La Boqueria. To find a seat in one of the tapas bars, you may have to wait a while or arrive early.

Most are fully booked after around 2 p.m. If you're spending a long weekend in Barcelona, don't forget that this covered market is closed on Sundays.

Barcelona in 4 days: visit the Gothic Quarter

Then, for your 4-day itinerary in Barcelona, it's time to get lost among the magnificent buildings of the Gothic district.

Making your way through the maze of narrow streets here is one of the best ways to explore Barcelona.

Of course, there are a few places not to be missed, such as Barcelona Cathedral on the Pla de la Seu and the "Pont del Bisbe" or "Bishop's Bridge".

There's a very good restaurant in the Gothic Quarter called Restaurant El Pintor. If you're not too hungry, but fancy a refreshment, go to Els Quatre Gats, one of the city's oldest bars.

End your first day at Poble Sec

To round off the day in style, you can head to the Poble Sec district. Here you'll find the best tapas in town. If you haven't tried Pinchos, you're in for a treat.

They're so popular that there's a whole street dedicated to Pinchos in the district of Poble Sec.

My favorite bar is Pinchos J. If you want a table outside, make sure you go there. before 7 p.m. to avoid waiting.

Barcelona in 4 days: Day 2

If one of the reasons you chose 4 days in Barcelona is to spend time on the beach, then after a busy first day of sightseeing, the second day in Barcelona is the perfect time to get started.

Take the Montjuïc cable car

To start the second day of your 4-day trip to Barcelona, I suggest you enjoy the sunrise at Montjuïc.

Hop on L2 or L3 to the Paral.lel metro station and join the funicular, a mountainside railway that takes you almost to the top of the hill from where you can enjoy the magnificent show.

From here, you'll find a pretty castle at the summit and incredible views of the port of La Rochelle. Barceloneta.

Take the harbour cable car down to Barcelona

The cable car is a wonderful way to get around Barcelona. It flies over the city's rooftops and takes you all the way to the port.

The Aeri del Port transbordador is just a few steps from the funicular that allowed you to climb to the top of Montjuïc.

Visit Barcelona in 4 days: spend time on the Marbella beach

During the summer months, Barcelona's main beach, Barcelonetais packed.

If you're looking for more space to relax, I recommend heading to a nearby beach like Playa Marbella.

Once you've bathed and relaxed in the sun on the warm sand, you can continue your visit. Just behind Marbella beach is the district of Poblenou. Head for the main street, Rambla PoblenouIn the afternoon, head to the beach for lunch at one of the many fantastic seafood restaurants or eat at one of the chiringuitos (beach bars) on the sand.

Spend some time in Parc Güell

An absolute must for your 4-day itinerary in Barcelona, the Parc Güell is a place I advise you not to miss.

Here, you can take magnificent photos of the sunset. It's also the best time of day for visit this magnificent Gaudi masterpiece.

Third day in Barcelona: visit La Sagrada Familia

At last, you arrive at the city's most interesting visit: the discovery of the Sagrada Familia. A building synonymous with Barcelona itself and something unique to discover.

Surprisingly, construction of the majorAntoni Gaudi began in 1882 and is still ongoing. The completion date is 2026.

If you want to venture inside, which you absolutely should, I recommend buying your tickets online in advance to get cheaper rates and avoid the queues.

I suggest that you reserve your VIP ticket. which guarantees fast entry.

Spend the rest of your day in Passeig de Gràcia

To continue your visit to the city, how about discovering other Gaudi structures in the Eixample district?

Passeig de Gracia is home to some of the city's most prestigious designer boutiques, as well as magnificent facades signed by the master.

On site, you'll discover the Casa Batlló designed by Gaudi in 1900, and next door you can see the Casa Amatller designed by Puig I Cadafalch in 1898.

A little further down the same street, you'll also find the Casa Milaanother Gaudi work commissioned in 1906.

If you're a fan of architecture, you might want to get in there, and again, it's best to be organized and to have a good idea of what's going on. buy your tickets online in advance.

Barcelona in 4 days: Day 4

It's time to get up again at the crack of dawn to see another of the city's famous monuments.

Don't miss Tibidabo

Located at the summit of Barcelona's highest peak, the Tibidabo del Sagrat Cor cathedral can be seen from almost anywhere in the city.

A trip to the top of Mount Tibidabo is a fantastic way to round off an unforgettable 4-day itinerary in Barcelona.

You can enter the magnificent church free of charge and even climb to the top for a small fee. The views from here are incredible.

If that's not enough for you, there's also an amusement park at the summit of Tibidabo.

To climb Tibidabo, you have a choice of transport options. You can hike up the mountain on your own power. Make sure you're in good shape, though, as the climb can be exhausting. If you've run out of energy after your stay, you can take a streetcar halfway up, then a funicular to the top of Mount Tibidabo.

End your trip in El Born

I'd like to round off the last day of your 4 days in Barcelona with a trip to Barcelona's trendiest district, El Born.

The district is right next to the Gothic Quarter, but the atmosphere is completely different.

Head for the main street, lined with the city's cutest boutiques and trendiest bars.

Here you can go shopping and enjoy a delicious cocktail to round off your trip in style!
