Pintxos in a nutshell
The term pintxo comes from the Spanish verb pinchar (to cut), as each pintxo is pierced with a wooden skewer. In most pintxo bars, there are two lengths of skewer, each length representing a different price.
When you're ready to leave, simply hand over your skewers and receive the bill. It's an informal way of eating, and one of my favorite aspects of Spanish culinary culture.
However, there are plenty of places in Barcelona that offer pretty mediocre pintxos. I therefore advise you to dining in carefully selected locations.
Le Koska
A list of places to eat the best pintxos in Barcelona would not be complete without an entry from Carrer de Blai. Crossing the lower half of Poble SecThis street is famous for its dozens of tapas bars and pintxos.
Koska is a local favorite and of a higher quality than many of its neighbors. Their selection is inventive, and as with all places along Blai, the best thing to do is sit on the terrace and watch the world go by. tasting this delicious culinary treat.
The venue opens :
- Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Friday from 6 p.m. to midnight
- Saturday noon to midnight
- Sunday noon to 4 p.m.
Pintxos: the Anardi
The Sant Antoni district is on the other side of Avinguda del Paral-lel de Poble Sec. At its heart is Carrer del Parlament, Sant Antoni's trendiest gastronomic spot. Nestled at one end of the street is L'Anardi, a local favorite owned by Renata and Oihana, two relocated Basques.
They offer a wide range of pintxos, with the jamón and quail egg option being the most popular choice. Make sure you also save room for one of their famous desserts.

- Tuesday to Friday 7:30 pm to 11 pm
- Saturday 1 to 4 p.m. and 7:30 to 11 p.m.
- Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Le Gasterea
At the heart of Vila de Gracia lies Carrer de Verdi, a mainly pedestrian street that runs from the Mercat de l'Abaceria to the Vila de Gracia. to the summit of Gracia. It's packed with stores, international restaurants, the popular local cinema and Gasterea.
The bar is adorned with a selection of classic pintxos and outstanding staff. Every five minutes, staff walk around the bar to encourage you to take a look at the pintxos on offer.

Pintxos: the Taktika Berri
Taktika Berri is well known in Barcelona as a leading Basque restaurant. Of course, it makes great pintxos. You won't find no mini-burgers or pintxos from fusion cuisine.
Instead, the menu is packed with classics, the seafood dishes being outstanding. Any of their cod pintxos will be one of the best experiences you can have in Barcelona.

- Monday to Saturday 1 to 4 p.m. and 8 to 11 p.m.
